Dentures

Tooth loss is a problem for people who struggle with oral hygiene, genetic predispositions, gum disease, and other health issues. Fortunately, people with damaged or missing teeth can still turn to dentures for a beautiful and healthy smile. At Grove City Smiles, our friendly team can help you regain your confidence with dentures and other restorative dental treatments.

What Are Dentures?

Dentures serve as replacement teeth for people who have damaged or missing teeth. With new digital scanning technology, dental offices can make removable dentures with a precise fit and shape to enhance the patient’s smile. Whether the office makes complete dentures or partial dentures, the latest technology makes them look like natural teeth.

When you get dentures from Grove City Smiles, you won’t have to worry about them slipping throughout the day. You can eat, speak, and enjoy life as if you had your natural teeth. We offer implant-supported dentures with a precision fit for additional confidence and stability.

Types of Dentures

To meet the needs of all of our patients, we offer several types of dentures. Some people need dentures to replace teeth lost to injuries, while others need dentures to replace teeth lost to age, oral hygiene habits, or genetics. Our denture offerings include:

  • Partial Dentures: Partial dentures replace small amounts of missing teeth. Your remaining teeth stay in place.
  • Complete Dentures: Complete dentures fill your entire mouth, and we recommend them for people who need all of their teeth replaced.
  • Implant-supported Dentures: Dental implants hold implant-supported dentures in place. These serve as permanent-tooth replacement treatments. They can be complete or partial.

How Do Dentists Make Dentures?

Before making a set of dentures, our dentists follow a regimen that includes several steps. The first step involves examining your teeth and gums to determine what teeth to extract and what to keep, then will extract those that are too damaged to keep. Next, a dental assistant will make a digital scan or impression of your mouth.

Our office sends the scan to the dental lab, where they make your dentures. When they are completed, they send them to the office where our dentists will meet with you and check that they fit precisely. The dentists will adjust the dentures to make them comfortable for you.

Why Get Dentures?

If you have damaged or missing teeth, you might not have a confident smile. Getting dentures can make you feel better about yourself. Since dentures look like natural teeth, no one knows you have them.

Dentures also help you improve your oral health, as they replace damaged, diseased, or missing teeth. They can boost your confidence by helping you speak clearly. They also help improve chewing and digestion. People with dentures also report having more comfort in their mouths now that their damaged teeth are gone.

Do Dentures Look and Feel Natural?

With the newest technology, complete and partial dentures look like the teeth you were born with. They fit perfectly, and they are the right size for your mouth. Before your exam and scans, it’s essential to talk to us about how you want your dentures to look.

When you first get dentures, you’ll notice them. Your mouth will need to adjust to them, but it doesn’t take long. After wearing them for a few days, you will become accustomed to them. However, let the dentists at Grove City Smiles know if you notice any discomfort. They can adjust them to make them fit comfortably.

What Do Dentures Cost?

The cost of dentures varies based on your needs. For example, partial dentures have a different price than full dentures. Many insurance policies cover dentures, so our office staff can help you understand what dentures cost.
